Healthvocate is a solo operation. Articles are published under the Healthvocate Editorial byline, and editorial responsibility rests with the founder, John David Yearwood — a finance professional with roughly a decade in valuation, including time at S&P Global, FMVA-certified, and an SMU graduate based in the Dallas area.
We do not have a newsroom and do not claim one. Where an article needs expertise beyond that, it says so and points to the primary source rather than asserting.
We explain what these say in plain language. We do not reproduce copyrighted code-set definitions; the explanations on this site are written independently.
Healthvocate's tools use AI to extract and structure information from documents a user provides — reading a bill, parsing an EOB, identifying a denial reason. The prose a reader sees is written and rendered by the application from that structured data, not generated freely at the moment of reading. This is a deliberate design constraint, adopted so that what the site tells someone about their own paperwork is reviewable and consistent rather than improvised.
